Leaving Caura

Today I am leaving Caura as a full-time Product Designer.

The last three years have been instrumental in the early stages of my career.

I joined as the sole dedicated Product Designer, working closely with Product Manager Annika Schmid.

In 2023, after Annika left Caura to join PostHog, I became de facto Product Manager & Designer. I worked hard to bridge the worlds of strategy and design, working closely with both the CEO and CTO.

I am proud of the work we did at Caura, where we relentlessly pursued simplicity and clarity as our guiding principles.

I saw Caura transition from an exclusively B2C mobile app to a fully-fledged enterprise SaaS solution, partnering with two of the largest financial institutions in the UK: Lloyds Bank and esure.

My favourite feature we launched was Maintain, allowing UK drivers to book their car into their local garage in just 2 minutes. We launched with a network of 6,500+ garages across the UK.

The work at Caura was challenging but immensely rewarding. It has been a pleasure to work with every member of the team.

I am leaving to explore my own product ideas. I will continue to work on a part-time basis at Caura for the foreseeable.

The future is both uncertain and exciting!
